Week 1

OK, the weather wasn't that bad, it was just no one knew quite when to put the waterproofs on.

The 2009 Curry Cup was punctuated by Stu's row with a new unbrella (it didn't work well in rain), Gunny's oustanding 40 points and English drizzle.

The course played long.

Other than Gunny, Boz and Mobester, players' scores were relatively low.

They were:-

Woodsy – 40 (cut to 12)
Boz – 38 (cut to 7 )
Moby – 37 (cut to 9)
Verve – 36
Big Boy – 34
Smithy – 31
Rosy – 30
Linz – 29
Ron – 29
Stu – 29
Chaos – 28
Jenks – 25

Despite the damp weather, the inaugural meet got off to a fine start on Friday April 17 thanks to the 12 player turnout, much improving greens and filthy late visit to The Hoy and adjacent curry house.

Strangest moment of the day? No, not Stu fighting with his unbrella. Dr Hiscock, Chris Jarman, Mark Stones and Adrian Worthington all rumbled up in the same drinking party at The Hoy as part of a Thornton Cup bonding session. Pure.
